Measuring is the most important component of buying furniture. 
When you have an item you want to buy, read over the product listing to find the dimensions.
Then, use measured-out painter’s tape or string to build a layout of how it will look in your home.

and stairways to make sure you can actually get it to where it’s supposed to go.
